Tell City Electric Department and PSC Internet have teamed up to provide you with a dial-up alternative via a high-speed Wireless Internet service.

In order for you to connect to this service, you must have your site surveyed to see if the signal can be received. Trees and geography affect the signal, so it is important for us to determine if your home receives the FAST-CONNECT Wireless Internet Connection signal.

CLICK HERE TO OBTAIN A SURVEY FORM. One of our customer service representatives will call to confirm both the date of the site survey, and your intent to have the site survey performed. You do not need to be home when the site survey is performed, however if you have any specific locations for the antenna, we will need for you to show us where you would prefer it located.

Note: The cost of the survey is $50 but, if you don't qualify, or you sign-up within 30-days of the survey, we will waive the cost of the site survey entirely! You will only pay for this cost if you elect to have the survey performed, but do NOT sign-up for the service within 30 days.

If you do qualify for the service, Tell City Electric Department will leave a contract for you after the site survey, or we will mail you a contract that you must fill out and return. In the contract, you will select your desired username, password, and rate package. The available rate packages are shown below:

Some additional notes about the FAST-CONNECT service:

  1. FAST-CONNECT Wireless Internet Connection is an "Always On" technology.  If your computer holds sensitive data, you should consider firewall protection such as a Cisco PIX firewall or a stand-alone proxy server.
  2. An Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) in your computer is required.
  3. PSC provides the service to only a single customer.  If the customer does not have a computer at the time of installation, a technician will install and test the FAST-CONNECT Internet service without the customer's computer.  WinPoet software will be left for customer to install on their computer.  Any subsequent trips requested by the customer for Wireless assistance after initial installation is billable at time ($60/hr during normal business hours) and material charges.  FAST-CONNECT Internet outages requiring dispatch will be responded to the next business day.  Support includes 24/7 TELEPHONE support only.
  4. Due to TCP/IP overhead, the data transfer rate will be less than the package rate chosen above.  The volume of Internet backbone traffic may also adversely affect data transfer rates.
  5. Installation includes a network surge suppressor device for the protection of customer equipment connected to FAST-CONNECT Wireless. Liability for any damages to customer equipment that may occur as a result of connection to the FAST-CONNECT Wireless Internet is strictly that of the customer.
